None of us has ever experienced a global pandemic before and, hopefully, we will never have to do this again. This is a unique time for us as a major brand that provides products that are not necessarily critical for our existence. For those of us lucky enough to be able to work from home, Canon has indeed got an array of products for home offices, but for photographers, in particular, this is a very stressful time. We have to remember that things will get better, the world will heal, this will pass. If we all listen carefully to the expert advice of social distancing and self-quarantining – we will get through this. We live in an uncertain time with no clarity on a future where all of this is behind us, but all we can do is our absolute best in the circumstances. I’ve seen a lot of photographers already online sharing knowledge and offering interactive online content – there’s no better time than now to do some online learning – all those tutorials or techniques you’ve been wanting to try, but haven’t had the time – well now you do. Canon is launching some content on social media shortly to get the ball rolling as well – giving you the chance to get inspired by things around the house – not everything needs a professional studio, camera or even lighting. Make do with what you have, dust off old gear, books and training courses and take this time to improve your knowledge and skills.
