Click 103

2 Photograph by Conrad de Jager This final issue of Click Magazine 2019 comes to you while I am away in London - getting some training on the all-new EOS 1DX Mk3 that had a development announcement at the end of October. It certainly looks like an interesting beast and details are a little vague at the moment. Once we have the final breakdown and the full announcement, we’ll be sure to share all the details with you. In the meantime, things haven’t been totally quiet on the product front, with the announcement of the new EOS Ra model designed specifically for Astrophotography as well as the final addition to the trinity of pro lenses in the RF range - the RF 70-200mm f2.8 L IS lens. This was overshadowed a little by the announcement of the RF85mm f1.2 L DS lens at the same time. The DS stands for “Defocus Smoothing” and allows for a softer, cleaner background blur at apertures lower than F3.2. This lens is the very first from Canon to offer this and will be a very exciting addition to the line-up aimed squarely at portrait, beauty, fashion and wedding photographers. That being said, this is the time when most of you start to wind down your workflow and start to get into holiday mode. We still are running right until the end of the year, ensuring that your Christmas purchases get to the stores in time. All that remains to be said is thank you for your ongoing support over the years, happy holidays and all the best wishes for a bright and prosperous 2020.
