2 EDITOR’S NOTE DEAR ALL, Firstly – allow me to wish you all a prosperous and happy New Year for 2018. 2017 was an exciting year for us as the 30th anniversary for EOS - and we had a lot of new cameras and lenses we were proud to announce. We had two fantastic Roadshows to our major cities and, for the first time ever, a special Eastern Cape mini-roadshow which had an equally fantastic response. We had a sales counter with Roadshow specials for the first time ever and we had some really good results – thanks to you guys digging deep and supporting our store. I hope you had a quiet and safe festive season, we were busy right up to the last days just before Xmas. I was busy recording episodes for our brand new lens feature on our Click Video Mag YouTube channel – I hope you will take the time to have a look, and more importantly, subscribe and comment so that I know that we are providing useful content for you. I hope you enjoy this first issue for the new year – I had a lot of fun over the last few weeks introducing Quintin Mills to bird photography for the first time. The concept was quite simple – I call it “fish out of water”. I wanted to take an accomplished photographer from a specific field and throw him at a completely different photographic challenge to see how it would go. As someone who normally shoots weddings, portraits, babies, food etc – I thought that bird photography would be a pretty far stretch and take him out of his comfort zone. Please read the article further on to see how he got on. Next challenge is to get a sports shooter into a portrait studio, I think! Anyway – this issue is lacking new product info as we have nothing new to announce – but we are departing shortly for the CABSAT broadcast show in Dubai for a few days, so hopefully we’ll come back with something interesting from there. Until the next issue – please keep Clicking away and remember to subscribe to our YouTube channel. Roger Machin Product Manager PVDVC Products Canon SA
