Dear all,

Firstly – please allow me to wish you all a happy

and prosperous new year. This is the first issue of

the year and we’ve already had some new product

announcements. The entry level Legria video

cameras have gone through some changes and

the Powershot G9 X becomes a new Mark II. We

also changed our entry level Ixus cameras – aimed

specifically at the first-time digital camera user.

This year we will be celebrating the 30th anniversary

of the EOS sub-brand, launched for the first time in

March 1987. EOS was the brand name we gave our

auto focus SLR cameras to differentiate them from

the “A” and “F” models we had in the manual focus

range. Since 1987, Canon has made over 80 million

EOS cameras and over 120 million EF lenses to go

with them. The overwhelming majority of these

units have been in the digital products launched

since 2000.

These are indeed massive numbers and puts Canon

very clearly in the lead with more DSLR cameras

and auto focus lenses produced than any other

manufacturer. Hopefully 2017 will prove to be yet

another successful year for EOS.

We are currently finalising venues, dates and

speakers for the first round of roadshows this year,

so please keep an eye on your inboxes and our

Facebook pages for details coming soon.

Until we see you – keep Clicking away!
